Cajon Pass - Alray ... To get to Alray, take the Hwy 138 exit from the 15 freeway. From the south, exit the freeway and look for the small dirt road that trails off between the hillside and the freeway. If coming from the north; make a left on 138 after exiting the freeway and watch for the small dirt road on your left just over the 15 (at the stop sign). Make a left onto the dirt road and follow it until you reach the tracks. The road will pass under the lower track then the upper track, finally under the Palmdale Cutoff. Any spot around here is good, just position yourself best for sun angles if doing photography, and dont forget to explore the upper ridges. They require hiking, but the results can be worth it. An adventure pass is no longer required in the area, although the signage is still present. Check the Forestry Service websites if your unsure or for further updates.
