Ball Road Grade Crossing:...Just a simple grade crossing east of the yard used by 2 of the locals; UP's Marlboro Switcher, & Costa Mesa Switcher.
The grade crossing is just east of Anaheim Blvd and often you can catch either the Costa Mesa switcher or the Marlboro switcher spotting cars for the Weyerhauser facility on the north side of Ball Road.
One of the first runs of the Marlboro to be done under RCL operations, they were switching cars at the Weyhauser plant just north of Ball Road as the sun sets. UP 766 working on the Marlboro switcher at Weyhauser. This facility is now owned by International Paper.

A short string of box cars stored just south of the Ball Road grade crossing. This used to be a common sight in the South Anaheim area as well.
UPY 599 seen here working on the Costa Mesa switcher north of Ball Road. Due to the track project that was going on up the middle of Santa Ana Street, the Costa Mesa switcher was bringing out the days loads for the Marlboro Switcher and they set them out on the old main siding before heading off to Costa Mesa. UPY 1144 with it's imfamous YUP lettering is seen here pulling the daily Marlboro switcher back to West Anaheim as they start across Ball.
